Shop 55 Wellness Center

Shop 55 is a partnership between Oakland High and local community agencies that provides medical health, mental health, youth development, academic support, and college access services to Oakland High students. Together, the partners work to increase student well-being, equity, and community spirit at Oakland High.

Health Services

• First aid and treatment of minor injuries and illnesses
• Sports physicals and physical exams
• Annual Flu shots (if available)
• Health insurance enrollment
• Vision, hearing and other health screenings and referrals
• Chronic illness management, including diabetes and asthma
• Parent-child consultation and health education
• Dental Services - Preventive and Emergency Only

Mental Health Services

• Individual and group counseling
• Drop-in counseling
• Substance abuse counseling
• Case management
• Parent and teacher consultation

After-School Programs & Youth Development Services

• Drop–in tutoring
• Sports study halls
• SAT Prep classes
• Dance, music, and art
• Jobs and internships (career readiness)
• College readiness programs

Minor Consent Services

In accordance with CA State Law, minors over the age of 12 may consent to the following services with or without parental consent:

• Reproductive health services including:pregnancy testing, contraceptives, prenatal
  care, options counseling and referrals, and diagnosis and treatment of sexually
  transmitted diseases
• Crisis mental health counseling
• Alcohol and substance abuse counseling
